Well, it’s quite true that everyone has a lot of different sides to them, a lot of dimensions to their personalities. On a normal basis, our Han Geng is generally a sweet, soft-spoken, and easy-going person…but what about those other times when he seems to do a 360-degree switch? Yes, Han Geng seems to have many, many sides to his personality, and sometimes, rather often, actually, these alter-egos come out for some air…
Hannie Fierce Very much like Beyoncé has her Sasha Fierce alter-ego, which she describes at the “more outgoing” and “more glamorous” version of her that emerges when she takes the stage, Han Geng seems to have a “Hannie Fierce” side to him. The shy giggles and soft voice disappear and we are instead presented with an intense-eyed, much bolder (and often much more sexual) version, especially when he’s dancing. I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I think his eyes get really scary. o__o
Miss China “Miss China” is Han Geng’s inner diva/feminine side that seems to appear every now and then on variety shows, the side of Han Geng that doesn’t hesitate to clutch Barbie dolls (and later wedge them between his thighs), or to talk in a freakishly high-pitched voice, or to rock a girly traditional costume, or to do a dance meant for women, or to hop into a Minnie Mouse suit, frilly red dress and all. And he’s perfected the hand wave, too. Glamorous, dahhlings.
Umma Geng This is the “motherly”, doting side of Han Geng that comes out very often, hence why he’s nicknamed the ”Umma” of Super Junior M. It can usually be activated right away by small children, but a Super Junior M member can do the trick, too. Usually accompanied by Siwon’s “Appa” alter-ego. And he can always make enough Beijing fried rice to go around and cleans up after his juniors and seniors when they’re done eating (although many times he has no say in the matter anyway, as seen in SuJu Full House), just like any good umma. He seems to like little kids a lot. In fact sometimes I start worrying that he’s going to stuff one under his jacket and smuggle it home.
Dorky! Geng Han Geng unleashes his inner dork usually in the face of boredom - or when there’s a camera present. Dorky! Geng will engage in all sorts of antics, sometimes scary, from turning electric drills on and off with a threatening smile, to blowing incessantly on party noisemakers, to secretly smearing things on to Siwon’s face, to dropping ice down the back of Heechul’s shirt…Dorky! Geng is exemplified in his finest moments in Super Junior Full House and the behind-the-scenes footage of the Super Girl MV.
Ghetto Princess Geng You know that one really cool girl that goes to your school, who always dresses really fabulous and fre$h, with the ghetto booty and ghetto hair and ghetto talk and - yeah, you get it. This is the rare, bitchier, more Heechul-like side to Han Geng that comes out every now and then on variety shows. You never knew how bitchy he could be until then, like a character right out of Mean Girls, and you instantly think, “Whoa! Was that seriously Han Geng that just said that!?” Fortunately, most of the times when Ghetto Princess Han Geng makes an appearance, it’s all in good humor. (: Oh no, she didn’t!
Of course, there are many other sides to Han Geng, but these are the main ones that I’ve notice.
OH HAN GENG. ROFL I REMEMBER THE DRILL. OH GOD I DIED.
